All About Us
The ice cream salon Caffè e Gelato recently celebrated its tenth birthday. Back when the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden opened its doors in 1999 we too, the owners of the ice cream salon and our staff, were raring to go. Ever since then, we’ve been thrilled to welcome the many ice cream lovers who have visited us over the years.
We originally come from Italy, where we all trained as professional ice cream manufacturers. Before we opened our joint ice cream salon in the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden in Berlin, each of us owned an ice cream parlour of our own in different German cities.
Caffè e Gelato fulfilled a very special dream for us. Our aim was to re-introduce the longstanding tradition of Italian ice cream to the heart of the German capital city.
From the very beginning, we emphasised extremely high quality. We have designed, developed and refined the recipes for every single ice cream variety we offer. Which is why every one of our flavours has its own unique and inimitable character.
The “two-pronged” name of our salon – Caffè e Gelato – was highly innovative in 1999. Then and now, it stands for the combination of an ice cream parlour and coffee culture. At Caffè e Gelato you can enjoy not only ice-cold delicacies but also a creamy cappuccino or a delicious latte macchiato.
Ten years on, we still love our work. In last winter we came up with a new concept, a concept in perfect harmony with our philosophy of innovation and professionalism. In this age of nutrition-consciousness we will now be taking even more care to use all-natural ingredients – to provide our customers with the highest quality and freshness they are accustomed to.
